We just wrapped up our conference call with our producers, and they luuuuuurved the new outline! Thank gawd! We're thrilled to pieces!!
We were both a little nervous because we had put SO much work into this outline. Our greatest fear was that they'd come back to us and say that we really missed the mark and needed to hack out another 20 pages or something.
But they didn't.
Instead, they loved it! And just as rewarding was that they both commented a number of times that they could tell how hard we've worked. It's really nice when stuff like that is recognized.
What a friggin' relief!! We're both soooo happy!!
However, this doesn't mean that we're completely out of the woods yet.
Naturally they had a small handful of suggestions. One was something that we had presented to them at our last meeting -- killing off the Jason character. It seems that he really is dead wood. (No pun intended.) And another idea they suggested will help us to increase the conflict during the second act and then we'll return to it later on to provide a bigger pay off as we transition into the third. (I won't get into all the details, but for those of you who have read previous drafts, it has to do with the infamous bridge scene.)
YAY! SO exciting! We're one step closer to writing! Fun! Fun! Fun!
So anyhow, we're going to dive back into the outline again tomorrow, and will hopefully have this revised version for them sometime within the next week.
And on that note, we're heading out to enjoy a late lunch and Cel-e-brate Good Times - C'mon! :)
You (both) rock.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeremy. :)
ReplyDeleteYou always sound so surprised when the "pros" love your stuff, but your collective fans already know that you, too, are pros! Way to go! Glad the outcome was favourable and that you are getting closer to the next phase. :o)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Michelle. ;)
